  • Business Neighborhood Emergency Response Organization created, numerous meetings led by Vashon Chamber of Commerce
  • Enhanced relations with King County Office of Emergency Management
  • Operation Lifeline - Plan & contract for hiring a barge or dedicated ferry to shuttle supplies if normal ferry operations are down
  • MOU with Vashon Island School District to serve as a Disaster Campus
  • MOU with Camp Burton to house disaster workers from off island
  • Vashon integration w/ county computer alerting/management systems
  • Enhanced integration of CERT & MRC & EOC Team with VIFR ops
  • Disaster Emergency Response Trailer received with 100 cots & room for additional sheltering supplies
  • 350 kW emergency generator received from Franciscan Health System
  • 110 kW emergency generator received from King County OEM
  • Voice Of Vashon 1650AM emergency broadcasting system upgrades
  • 2011 (& inaugural) King County Executive Award for Community Preparedness
  • Vashon Island Fire & Rescue’s 2010 Commissioners Award
  • VashonBePrepared.org & VashonEOC.org websites extensively upgraded

  • Ongoing regional information monitoring& re-distribution to partners
  • Leadership provided for planning the June2012 Evergreen Quake Exercise
  • Active with King County Regional Emergency Communications Center
  • Provided input to High School and Library remodels
  • Participation in regional conferences and events: Partners in Preparedness, HAZUS, Mass Care, MRC, COMM Academy, Animal Care, Seattle Neighborhoods, EOC to EOC radio drills, & others
